Introduction

Social Entrepreneurs Women’s Alliance (SEWA) Nepal is a nonprofit making, nonpolitical and non-governmental organization which was established in 2022 in District Administration office Kathmandu and also affiliated with Social Welfare Council. It is national level organization of social entrepreneurs. It is dedicated to improving sustainable livelihood of women entrepreneurs, smallholder farmers and backward community based on agriculture and livestock enterprises by strengthening of technical, governance, financial management and organizational of social entrepreneurs. SEWA Nepal is an apex body formed by more than 200 social entrepreneurs' women cooperatives (SEWCs) with 2,00 000 members of six province of Nepal.

Our Vision

Women entrepreneur's cooperatives are united and led by empowered women who will establish women's entrepreneur businesses, industry, cooperative university, and cooperative bank.

  • Vision 1 : 1000 women entrepreneur cooperatives with 1.5 million members will be affiliated with SEWA
  • Vision 2: SEWA will establish a women's cooperative bank that will have a minimum of 20 billion rupees to provide loans and insurance to its members.
  • Vision 3: SEWA Nepal will promote women's entrepreneurship by supporting industries, business development, and business promotion.
  • Vision 4 A women entrepreneur-led cooperative university to provide professional business education.
  • Vision 5: SEWA will have efficient and effective women entrepreneur leadership across all sectors.

Objectives of SEWA Nepal

  • To improve rural livelihood and economic prosperity by strengthening the capacity of primary women cooperatives.
  • Advocacy to increase participation of social entrepreneurs in policy making process in all levels of government (Local, province and federal)
  • To increase access to education, health, nutrition, insurance, input supply, market and access to finance through the women empowerment social capital development, social transformation and awareness raising.
  • To facilitate producer for consumer friendly quality production, processing and marketing of Agriculture-livestock products.
  • Develop leadership of women involve in agriculture and livestock business by forming group and networks to develop social entrepreneurship and improve livelihood
